Jewish Genealogical Society of Tulsa’s Goals


  • Establish a scholarly organization with the goal of pursuing, encouraging and preserving Jewish family history and genealogical data.
  • Assist and promote the research of Jewish family history while elevating the status and role of genealogy in the Community.
  • Provide opportunities for sharing Jewish Genealogical information.
  • Develop interesting exhibits and programs for The Sherwin Miller Museum as well as traveling exhibits to be used for national recognition for the Museum, the Society and for our Community.

  • Dues for Jewish Genealogical Society: $18 per year
  • All members of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Tulsa must have a membership to The Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art.
    • Students: $25 (Society dues waived)

Jewish Genealogical Societies Background

  • The first Jewish Genealogical Society began in New York City in 1977.
  • The International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS) was founded in 1988 with 80 active societies around the world including 24 international societies and 52 active societies throughout the United States. We are members!
  • International meetings occur yearly.
  • We are the first and only Jewish Genealogical Society in the State of Oklahoma.
