The Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art is pleased to partner with Tulsa Public Schools (TPS) in the Any Given Child Program.  This exciting program that kicks off this fall will allow every 7th grade student from TPS to visit the Museum’s Herman and Kate Kaiser Holocaust Exhibit.

In preparation for these special tours, and with the Council for Holocaust Education and TPS officials, the Museum has worked to integrate a classroom curriculum for Holocaust education. The Museum conducted a workshop that included 7th grade TPS teachers, as well as Museum docents and employees to prepare them to lead students through the exhibit.

Tulsa was the fifth city in the nation to receive support from the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. to implement the Any Given Child initiative to ensure the arts for children. The initiative is a joint partnership between TPS, the Mayor’s office, and the Tulsa Arts & Humanities Council. The Kennedy Center worked with the Tulsa Any Given Child team to find community funding, to create a Community Arts Team, and to establish a mission statement.
