Is Barbie Jewish?

Calling all Barbies and Kens! Barbie-mania has hit The SMMJA. This exhibit consists of 25 vintage Barbies and explores the Jewish roots of Barbie and her creator, Ruth Handler, who was born to Jewish immigrants from Poland. But mostly, it's just a fun exhibit!

Is Barbie Jewish?

Calling all Barbies and Kens! Barbie-mania has hit The SMMJA. In collaboration with the Center for Queer Prairie Studies (which is supported by the Tulsa Artist Fellowship, a cultural initiative of the George Kaiser Family Foundation), we are hosting a pop up exhibit, Is Barbie Jewish?, in the Sharna Newman Frank Education Gallery through October 31.

This exhibit consists of 25 vintage Barbies and explores the Jewish roots of Barbie and her creator, Ruth Handler, who was born to Jewish immigrants from Poland. But mostly, it's just a fun exhibit!

Exhibit sponsors are:

Arts Alliance Tulsa, The Commemoration Fund, Flint Family Foundation, The Sharna & Irvin Frank Foundation, The Frank Family Foundation, The Anne & Henry Zarrow Foundation, The Kirschner Trust, Brian E. Brouse, Lori Frank and LaVonna Reed, Carol Miller, and Barbara Sylvan
